Thank you for visiting my website.  I appreciate your interest in my work as a Justice of the Peace for Washington County.

I am currently serving in my third term on the
Washington County
Quorum Court.  I was re-elected to a fourth term in the election held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.  It is my honor to serve the people of District 9, and I will to continue to work hard to ensure fair, responsible, efficient, and transparent governance for our County.

I was
elected to my first term on November 2, 2010, with 55% of the vote.  I was sworn into office on January 1, 2011, by Circuit Judge Joanna Taylor.

I was re-elected to a second term on November 6, 2012, with just over 60% of the vote.  I was re-elected to a third term on November 4, 2014, without opposition.

The Quorum Court meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Washington
County Courthouse (2nd Floor).  The meetings are also broadcast live on the Government Channel, Cox 216.  Meeting agendas can be found here.

Committees meet on some Mondays and Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m.  For a schedule of meetings, check here.

My committee assignments for 2015-16 are:  County Services, Jail and Law Enforcement, and Ordinance Review.  I serve as chair of the County Services Committee and and am serving in my third term as our Court's representative to the Arkansas Association of Quorum Courts.  I also serve as Secretary on the Board of Directors for that statewide organization.
In my first term,
I served as chair of the Legislative Affairs and Information Technology Committees, but I later recommended to my fellow JPs that we disband those committees to make our committee structure more efficient.  I have also served on the Finance/Budget and Public Works Committees and
on the Association of Arkansas Counties Legislative Committee, a statewide committee where I was one of only three JPs and Washington County's only representative.

Filing for re-election February 23, 2012

The Quorum Court is the County's legislative body.  Our primary duties are approving and overseeing the County's annual budget and passing County legislation.
